An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Poster Cloth Banner (cloth; measures 36 1/4" x 119") (Learn More)

Arizona Sweepstakes, the 1926 Clifford Smith silent cowboy western starring Hoot Gibson, Helen Lynch, Philo McCullough, George Ovey Emmett King, Tod Brown, and Kate Price. Note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that many cloth banners would have the title area of the movie take up the center two-thirds to 80% of the entire image area, with just small images at the left and right of the banner. This banner, however, has a relatively small title area across the bottom of the poster, and a great stone litho image of cowboys on horseback charging at the viewer, with an image of Hoot Gibson bordered by a horseshoe!

Condition: good to very good. The banner was stored folded for many years. There is significant wear on some of the foldlines and scattered creases and scuffs throughout the poster. There are metal "grommets" around the edges of the poster (these allowed theaters to hang these cloth banners on hooks). Each corner of the poster had the poster folded under before the metal grommet was inserted (this was standard at the time, and gave the grommet twice as much material to hold onto, so they did not tear near as much). The material is still folded under, and the grommet could be removed and the material unfolded. Obviously, this poster has some significant defects as noted above, but it is mostly "all there" and the defects are not all that distracting and help visually establish that the poster is 82 years old (and I doubt there is another of these banners in existence!).
