Date Sold 12/8/2011 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 8 Original Vintage Theatrical Cuban Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) De La Sierra Hasta Hoy, the 1959 Cuban war Communist revolution documentary featuring images of the war and the leaders of the Cuban revolution including Fidel Castro, Che Guevara, Camilo Cienfuegos, Juan Almeida Bosque, and Raul Castro (Fidel's brother, who recently became the head of Cuba, due to his brother's declining health). It seems likely that this documentary was celebrating the victory of the Communists and it seems that the title would roughly translate to "From the Mountains to [Where We Are] Today". The scene cards include great candid images of Castro and his top followers, and images from during the revolution! We wonder if this documentary might not have been shown in the United States and/or elsewhere under the title of "The Rebel Castro", because we have seen a one-sheet poster with that title that certainly seems like it could be the same documentary as this. If anyone knows more about this movie, and whether it was shown anywhere other than Cuba, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that these are country of origin lobby cards for this Cuban movie. Also note that these Cuban lobby cards measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]. Condition: very good. The seven scene cards range from "very good" to "very good to fine" condition. The title card has some scattered stains and marks in the image, and some pinhole and stains around the edges, with red paint in the bottom left and a burn mark in the left of the top blank border.
