An Original Vintage Unfolded Six Sheet Stage Play Poster (measures 81" x 81" [206 x 206 cm]) (Learn More) Uncle Tom's Cabin, the circa 1900s stage play adaptation of Harriet Beecher Stowe's classic novel, which helped bring about the end of slavery and the Civil War, thanks to its depiction of the cruel treatment of African American slaves in the South. Note that we have seen posters from this stage play production that were dated from 1890 to 1930s. Posters from any stage production of Uncle Tom's Cabin are incredibly difficult to accurately date (unless they are dated, of course, but virtually none are). This is because there were endless stage productions of this play from 1890 on, all over the U.S. We have no doubt that companies would print posters that local touring companies would order, which would explain why they rarely had any credits of any kind, no doubt so they could be used by any touring company. So please keep in mind the possible wide dating range when bidding. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a very rare stage play six sheet that was printed in four sections designed to overlap. While six sheets were created for many stage plays, very few survive (and we have never auctioned this poster before). Note that each section of this poster was rolled and stored together, and because they are very fragile, we sill send them rolled together in a tube (and the tube will measure approximately 44" long, so bear that in mind before placing a bid on this poster.) Condition: fair to good. The four sections of the poster are each fragile. They have tears and tiny paper loss around the edges and on parts of the foldlines, and there are also some tears that are not on the folds. Someone repaired many of the tears with tape from the back, and some of the tape has yellowed and somewhat bleeds through to the front. However, this rare and beautiful poster can certainly be "rescued" by a talented restorer and properly backed. But, please look closely at our super-sized image (and bear in mind the cost of restoration) before placing a bid on this poster. Learn More about condition grades
