Did you know... that we are KEEPING the text view in our Auction History and Auction Galleries because many of you requested it?

Our Auction History and Auction Galleries have long contained 3 ways to view results (Grid, List, Text), and the first two included images (one with larger images and one with smaller), but the last one ("Text View") did not. Some of you have told us that you are "stuck" in text view (and can't figure out why we "deleted" all our images!), and it had occurred to us that we didn't think anyone uses that text view, so we are thought of removing it. We gave all of you one week to tell us whether you want it kept or not. If no one (or only a few people) had told us they wanted it to stay, then we will would have removed the text view so that all of you will then only be viewing Auction History results in a Grid layout or a List layout, BOTH with images.

Incidentally, the only reason we ever had the "text view" was back from the day (years ago) when we had our images in a separate database from our results, and when we combined the two databases we kept the "text view" because a few people were still on "dial up modems" and they could not handle pages with lots of images. But that is ancient history now, so unless we find some reason we missed, this "text view" will be gone in one week!

BUT NOW, THANKS TO THE RESPONSES FROM MANY OF YOU, WE ARE GOING TO KEEP THIS TEXT VIEW!

Of course, something could change down the line, but for now, you still have text view, and, as always, YOU DON'T HAVE TO REGISTER ON OUR SITE OR "SIGN IN" TO VIEW ANY OF THE ONE MILLION PLUS IMAGES (OR THE 933,00 PLUS RESULTS)!

And the next time you have an opinion on something we are doing but don't share it, remember back to this time, where just a relatively small number of you were able to make a big difference by convincing us to keep this feature, solely because they took the time to reply!

IMPORTANT: Because there still WILL be some people who "accidentally" get "stuck" in text view, we have added a notification to the text view for those who get "stuck" in it. It looks like the below yellow box, and when you are seeing it (it is only displayed in the Text View), it can be removed from your view by clicking on the "X" in the top right corner, and it will stay gone until you clear your browser's cookies. It looks like this:

NOTE: Here is the article we originally ran under the heading of "Did you know... that we are going to eliminate the "text" mode from our Auction History and Auction Galleries?":
