Did you know... that we absolutely protect our customers' privacy?

We do not share ANY private information (addresses, phone numbers, etc) of our customers with ANYONE, for two reasons:

1) We have found that the vast majority of our customers value their privacy, and very much want us to protect it. In the early years before computers, there were a few situations where we shared somebody's information because there seemed to be a compelling reason to do so (such as "I have known this person for 20 years but lost their phone number"), and in a few cases the customer was angry we disclosed what we did, so now we have an absolute blanket rule that we NEVER do this.

2) We have spent 27+ years building up our business, and one of the greatest values we have is our customer base. If we were to share our customer information with our competitors, we would probably go out of business! There is no auction house that does this.

So if you are looking for information on one of our customers, know that we can't help you (but you also can sleep well knowing we will never pass on YOUR information to anyone else!).

In a similar vein, know that over the years we had been deluged with requests from people asking to purchase items that we auctioned in the past. Many years ago we tried to help these people, but we soon had to change our policy on this.

Why? Because we found that in almost every case the past buyer is NOT looking to re-sell their item, and because it is also very time consuming for us to track down past buyers, and since we are so busy getting 3,000 auctions prepared and dealt with every week, time is our most precious commodity, it really doesn't make sense for us to contact previous buyers to see if they want to sell their purchases.

If you ever find that you want to buy something we auctioned in the past, please be understanding of the above, and know that we will usually be consigned the same or similar item again at some point in the future (except in the case of extremely rare or one-of-a-kind items). You can get a sense of an item's rarity by using our Auction History which contains nearly 1,500,000 actual sales results. You may also be automatically notified when we again have an item by using our Want List system.

But the above brings up a fascinating question! There are other auction sites that has a feature on their site where you can make an offer to the "buyer" of any previously auctioned item. IN LOTS AND LOTS OF CASES, THOSE PREVIOUS "BUYERS" ARE WILLING TO SELL THEIR ITEMS FOR SLIGHTLY OVER WHAT THEY "PAID".

This makes us wonder. Why is it that eMoviePoster.com past buyers virtually NEVER want to re-sell their purchases (even for a lot more than they paid), but those other auctions' "buyers" so often are ready and willing to re-sell? It makes one wonder if the items actually sold, or if they simply went back into the inventory of the auction (or the consignor), waiting for someone to make an offer, so a real sale can finally occur?
