Are you someone who has been using email for 20 or more years, and still have your original email address from back then? If so, then there is a good chance it was registered with AOL, or Hotmail, or Earthlink, or Yahoo, and if so, there is a wonderful chance you are not receiving a lot of email you are being sent by businesses you know (where you DO want to get their emails)!

How can this be? Because many of these email providers use anti-spam filtering that falsely identifies some of our emails (and emails sent by other businesses you deal with regularly) as spam. This can include not only our promotional emails sent to let you know what auctions we have closing very soon, but also outbid and winning bid notifications, and on rare occasions even some non-automated emails directly from our office, and obviously both you and we don't want this to happen.

Why is this happening? One reason for this is that the spam filters from those companies have automated parameters for what makes an email "spam". This includes having "too many links", or "too many images", or using phrases that they think spammers are likely to use, like "large sums of money"!

It is emails with "too many links" that can get some of our emails marked incorrectly as spam. Of course we include those links and images in our emails so that both our customers and consignors know how much they won items for and how much an item sold for respectively and so they can easily and quickly access the auction result for that specific item.

Another issue is that some of these email services use shared spam classification filtering, meaning if enough users choose to mark an email as spam (either intentionally or accidentally), then these email services will start treating more and more emails from us as spam, even ones that don't have ANY links or images.

How can YOU make sure you receive all our emails? The very best thing you can do to help make sure you receive our emails is to get an email account with an email provider that isn’t as strict or has better spam detection than AOL, or Hotmail, or Earthlink, or Yahoo. The best one we know is Gmail. It is free, quick and easy to get a gmail account. You can use that new email solely for our emails, or for all your emails. Let us know if you have any trouble signing up with gmail, and we can quickly lead you through doing so.

If you absolutely don't want to change (or add an account), you can instead add our email addresses to your address book or contact list which with most providers will tell them that we’re a reputable company and that you actually want to receive our emails. If you do this, be sure to add all our main email addresses that you get emails from, likely including , , , and maybe or .

What if some of our emails are ones you no longer wish to receive from us (such as our wantlist, club message, or other promotional emails)? If you mark those as spam, then your email provider will likely mark ALL our emails to you as spam, not just those. Instead you need to solely unsubscribe from the ones you don't want (which you can do anytime, because we always quickly process our customers unsubscribe requests). Doing so this way ensures you’ll receive the emails you DO want and that none of our emails to you will be classified as spam.
