I want to tell you about a REALLY significant improvement we have just added to our auctions!

What is this new feature? It is a change to your "My Bids" page which lets you bid directly from that page (but solely on items you have already bid on)! This will surely save you LOTS of time in placing bids, especially on the day the auctions close. We have an explanation of exactly how it works below.

BUT THERE IS ONE DANGER TO THIS! Because you can bid directly from the My Bids page, you will not be seeing the entire auction when you place a bid, and this surely increases the chances that you will accidentally bid on the wrong item. Since that creates great problems for us (and is very unfair to other bidders and the consignors), we won't be able to keep this feature active if it causes a lot of people to make mistakes in their bidding.

But let's very much hope that we DON'T have a problem with mistakenly placed bids, and that we can keep this wonderful new feature! Here is how it works:

1) After you place a bid on an item, that item appears on your My Bids page along with any other items you bid on, like this:

2) See the new button labeled "Bid" below the amount of your bid (in this case, $1)? All you do is click on it, and a pop-up appears that shows you a new "Quick Bid Form" which looks like this:

3) In our example, we were already the high bidder at $1, but we wanted to raise our bid, so we now bid $2 by entering "2" in the box under "Current Bid", and then clicking "Submit Bid". The pop-up shows us the result of our new bid which looks like this:

4) Of course, nobody would actually raise a $1 bid to $2, but we didn't want to interfere with a real auction, so we picked one with no bid and then placed the above two bids on a test account, and then canceled them.

BUT THIS WORKS FOR ALL THE ITEMS ON YOUR "MY BIDS" PAGE! Please when you next bid on any of our auctions, look at your "My Bids" page and check out the above. We think you will find that it saves you a great deal of time in "re-bidding" on items.

Please let us know how it worked for you, and also PLEASE make certain that you are bidding on the items you intend to bid on! And remember that this ONLY works on items you have already bid on (and when you are on your "My Bids" page, you are NOT seeing any of the items you have not bid on).

AND OF COURSE, YOU DON'T HAVE TO USE THIS NEW FEATURE AT ALL! If you prefer, you can simply keep bidding exactly as you have in the past. This just gives you a new ADDED way to bid!
