Description: This Gun For Hire, the classic 1942 Frank Tuttle crime film noir ("Killer without a conscience! Lover without a heart?"; "Based on the novel by Graham Green") starring Veronica Lake, Robert Preston, Laird Cregar, Alan Ladd, Tully Marshall, Mikhail Rasumny, and Marc Lawrence. Note that at the time this movie was released, Alan Ladd was a virtually unknown actor, who was given his "big break" as the killer in this crime movie. He was only 4th billed, but very happily the poster artist chose to illustrate the one-sheet with an image of a beautiful Veronica Lake looming over the figure of Alan Ladd! The result is the rare case where a great movie has a great poster to go with it (even more surprising, given that Ladd likely should not have even been on the poster, given the way studios at the time almost always pictured their top billed stars)!
