It is ironic that some of our buyers tell
us how pleased they are by how LITTLE we charge for shipping, and yet
other of our buyers complain because they think we charge TOO MUCH for
shipping! How is this possible? Because we charge $2 for packaging
materials, and some sellers use the low quality "free" packaging materials from
the Post Office, and some buyers find that we charge a couple of dollars more
than another seller and they consider that too much!
On the other hand, we charge a flat rate U.S. shipping
of just $9 on most packages, and many customers who spend a LOT of money
with us get a package that we paid $15, $20, or more to send, and we still only
charge them $9, so those customers are extremely happy!
But in any event, we KNOW we have the best
packaging of any seller, and that virtually GUARANTEES that your items
arrive in exactly the same condition we send them in!
We know that every buyer wants to
receive his/her order promptly, and extremely well wrapped, to insure that it
arrives in exactly the condition it was sent. We use specially made boxes,
Calumet containers, and double strength cardboards, and gorilla-proof tubes (for
rolled items), and uses reinforced paper tape to seal all packages.
Bruce has been a collector for over
40 years, and sends packages that are wrapped the way he would like to receive them! Here is a picture
of an actual package that we sent to a buyer, next to a package that
we received
from a seller on eBay:

Note that the package we sent (at the left) has two
pieces of double-strength cardboard placed within a Calumet container, sealed with reinforced
paper tape. The other package (on the right) consists of two cut down pieces of corrugated box
cardboard that has been taped with brown mailing tape.
