Details About These Items

Why are we auctioning very oversized rolled and very oversized flat items in the same set of auctions?
We are doing this because we have only a limited number of "very oversized" flat items and also a limited number of "very oversized" rolled items. Neither is not enough for their own set of auctions, so we combined them. There are "only" 555 items of the two types in all, but they include many very interesting ones (and lots of super rarities).

About the "very oversized" or "oversized" rolled items
The items we are currently auctioning in this set of auctions need to EITHER be shipped in tubes over 32" (many much longer) OR in very large flat packages (some REALLY large). There are also some items that ship in regular tubes or packages, but they are in this set of auctions because they CAN'T be combined with other items. There are many, many items you may well not see again for sale or auction for many years to come, and there is an amazing variety of all sorts of items, covering all years, sizes, and genres, so be sure to look through all of these items (in addition to looking at the chart below). If you miss some of these items, you may never again get a chance at them!

HERE IS A CHART OF THE ITEMS IN THIS AUCTION:

About the shipping of the current "very oversized" or "oversized" rolled items
The first 430 items we are currently auctioning are "very oversized" or "oversized", meaning that they CAN'T be sent in our tubes that measure 30" or shorter (except for the limited number of items which CAN go in shorter tubes, but they can't be combined with other rolled items, which is also true of vinyl banners and similar items, but those ship in oversized tubes) or they CAN'T be sent in our standard flat packages. This means that, for this set of auctions only, we will combine shipments of items that are safe to combine (but if you win items of different types that ship in more than one package, you will be charged for more than one package), and remember that all of these items are marked as "actual cost of shipping", so bear that in mind before bidding.
It should be pretty simple to tell which items can ship "rolled", which "flat", and which ship in boxes (it is noted on each individual auction page and in the chart above). Either way, you will likely have to pay a greater amount for shipping than normal (especially if you live outside the U.S.). Because we are selling many different sizes of items (many "oversized"), our shipping estimate charts below for non-U.S. buyers are only of limited use (and the actual cost can vary drastically from the chart, so PLEASE do not think that you can rely on them!), due to the wide variance of the size of packages, so if knowing the actual shipping cost is important to you before you bid, please contact us with the item or items, along with where you live.
The items after the first 430 contain many books and similar items that can possibly be sent via Media Mail in the U.S. But like the first 430 items, many of the later items also need to be sent in boxes and can be quite heavy and large, so bear that in mind before bidding on those items as well.

About the condition
We give a detailed overall condition grade ("fine", "very good to fine", "very good", "good to very good", and only a few which are "good" or lesser) along with more details about the condition described in words (where we thought additional details were needed, because the defects were hard to see). We felt this would help bidders identify items they want to bid on more easily. Of course, we could not describe every single defect, so we still strongly recommend that you look at our super-sized image to see the extent of the defects that we describe and to examine the still for minor defects that we did NOT describe.

U.S. Shipping Details

U.S. buyers must pay the actual cost of shipping their order plus $3, for both the best packaging materials you have ever seen (you can choose either the U.S. Post Office or UPS (since you are paying it, you can choose the method you prefer). All U.S. orders will be sent fully insured.

NOTE: In the past, we offered a "flat rate" shipping price on some of our auctions. We no longer have this, for two reasons. One is that the shipping companies have drastically raised their rates many times in the past few years, so we were losing lots of money with our flat rate. The other more important reason is that our Pay and Hold Program (see below for how this works) allows you to have your purchases sent every TWELVE weeks, which means we will only send you packages four times a year, and almost all of those packages were already being charged the actual cost anyway. We urge all of our customers to join the Pay and Hold Program, because it really saves you a massive amount on shipping!

Missouri, Arizona, California, Washington, Illinois, North Carolina, and Ohio customers: If your order is sent within these states, we MUST collect sales tax, and we will do so automatically (unless you have a Reseller Certificate from your state in which case you need to reply to this email with a copy of that Certificate, so you can be exempted from the sales tax).

Have you heard about our Pay and Hold Program?
This lets U.S. buyers pay for their purchases from 12 consecutive weeks (a total of 18 auctions and around 24,000+ items!), and we then send all your purchases at once saving you LOTS of money! Click HERE to learn more about becoming one of the hundreds of our U.S. buyers who are already part of this program.

Do you need "signature required"?
Neither UPS nor USPS automatically require a signature to deliver packages, so if you want the signature to be required, you will need to pay the extra $5.00 for UPS or $2.60 for USPS that they charge for "signature required", and please realize that they will then NOT leave the package at the door, and you may well have to go to the UPS or USPS facility yourself to pick it up if you aren't there to meet the delivery person. If you have any other special requirements, please tell us when you are paying for your order. IF YOU DO NOT SPECIFY THAT YOU WANT SIGNATURE REQUIRED, THEN YOUR PACKAGE WILL BE SENT WITHOUT SIGNATURE REQUIRED (unless your package has a dollar value over $300, in which case we will ALWAYS send it with signature required, due to the massive rise in "porch thefts", unless you specifically tell us not to, and you will need to fully accept responsibility for the package if it is stolen from your porch or lobby)!

You CAN usually combine shipment!
NOTE: These items need to be sent in a variety of ways (as noted on the individual auction pages and in the chart above) so...

*Some of the "flat" items can be combined with these auctions and we will combine them automatically if there is no chance of damage to any of them items you win:

Tuesday August 4th programs, program books, and magazines
Thursday August 6th pressbooks, comic books, sheet music and much more
Thursday August 20th single lobby cards and single stills
Sunday August 23rd items that ship flat
Thursday September 3rd some of the unbacked posters that ship in flat packages in Part II of our September Major Auction
Sunday September 6th lobby cards and anything that ships in flat packages in Part III of our September Major Auction
Tuesday September 15th sets of lobby cards and sets of stills
Thursday September 17th window cards, Italian, French, 3sh, 6sh, and similar
Sunday September 20th folded one-sheets and folded non-U.S.
Tuesday September 29th signed items that ship in flat packages
Thursday October 1st all sorts of miscellaneous items

*Some of the "rolled" items can be combined with these auctions and we will combine them automatically if there is no chance of damage to any of them items you win:

Sunday August 9th rolled one-sheets, non-U.S., and special posters
Tuesday August 18th inserts, half-sheets, and small rolled non-U.S. posters
Sunday August 23rd items that ship rolled
Thursday September 3rd rolled items in Part II of our September Major Auction
Sunday September 6th anything that ships rolled in Part III of our September Major Auction
Tuesday September 29th signed items that ship in tubes

*Almost EVERY item in this set of auctions CAN'T be combined with the below auctions, because either these items or the below items could be damaged when they are combined:

Tuesday September 1st all items in Part I of our September Major Auction
Thursday September 3rd linenbacked items in Part II of our September Major Auction

*Most items that ship in boxes CAN'T be combined with other non-boxed items, but if they can be safely combined with any other purchases you made, we will be sure to do so!

Note that (if you join our Pay and Hold Program) we allow you to wait to have your purchases shipped until a total of twelve auctions have ended so that you can combine your current purchases with those of our following auctions (if possible; see Learn More About Combining), and that means there is a chance you could combine all those items, and still pay only a single shipping charge (assuming those items fit into the same type of package, but of course, there is a limit to how many items can fit in a single package or tube, and if you end up with several packages, you will need to pay that many shipping charges; Learn More About Combining). Since around half of our auctions have items that ship in tubes and the other half have items that ship in flat packages, and since few of those two types of items can be combined, most of our regular buyers end up with at least two packages after twelve weeks. We KNOW there are other sellers who charge a little less on shipping than we do (and of course, there are others who charge far more!), but none of the ones with lower rates offer the same generous combined shipping we do, and we know that our packaging is the best there is, and our orders virtually never arrive damaged (and on the very rare times that they do, all our U.S. packages are fully insured, and FULL INSURANCE IS INCLUDED IN THE U.S. SHIPPING CHARGE).

DON'T BID ON OUR ITEMS UNLESS YOU WILL PAY THE ACTUAL COST OF SHIPPING (plus $3 for packaging materials)!

Non-U.S. Shipping Details

Non-U.S. buyers must pay the actual cost of shipping their order (you can choose whatever method you prefer, but know that the U.S. Post Office has eliminated Surface Mail, so we can only send via Express or Airmail), plus $3, for both the best packaging materials you have ever seen and a separate printed invoice mailed to you. All non-U.S. buyers must tell us if they want the package sent insured or uninsured at the time they pay for their order.

Learn more about how to save money on shipping by shipping to friends/family in the U.S., insurance, and customs fees.

NOTE THAT WE DON'T HAVE A CHART WITH ESTIMATED SHIPPING COSTS FOR THIS SET OF AUCTIONS, BECAUSE THE ITEMS ARE SUCH VARIED TYPES AND SHIP IN SO MANY DIFFERENT WAYS! However, most of the items in this set of auctions are here because they cost much more to ship than items that fit in standard packages, so please bear these approximate shipping cost in mind BEFORE you place a bid (if you live outside the U.S.). The vast majority of our customers want a very securely packed tube, and will pay the extra shipping cost involved (and of course, it goes to the Post Office or UPS, and not us!). Please do not ask us to pack less securely, as that would likely result in a damaged order.
Some sellers are sending by Ground UPS to Canada, but that incurs large "brokerage fees", so we do not recommend it. Note that there are also some sellers sending non-U.S. packages via a "Letter" rate, but of course this is not legal, and we can not do this. We have outlined the possibilities for sending non-U.S. packages above, so please read that carefully, BEFORE placing a bid!

Do you have a friend or relative who lives in the United States?
Some of our customers either visit the U.S. regularly, or have friends or relatives within the U.S., and often those customers have us send their orders to a U.S. address, and then they transport the posters from there. THIS CAN SAVE YOU A GREAT DEAL ON SHIPPING! This is fine with us, but realize that you still need to let us know within one week of receipt if you want to return anything, so don't use this method unless you are certain you will want to keep your purchases.

DON'T BID ON OUR ITEMS UNLESS YOU WILL PAY THE ACTUAL COST OF SHIPPING (plus $3 for packaging materials)!
