Special Notes About The Items in our First Set of Sunday Auctions

Why have we added these Sunday auctions?
Because we are regularly consigned unusual types of items that don't "fit" in our regular Tuesday and Thursday auctions! These new Sunday auctions are intended for ALL such items.
We are beginning our Sunday auctions with three pretty amazing collections we have been consigned from three different consignors. The first consists of thousands of glass slides from the 1930s and 1940s, the second consists of thousands of movie magazines from the 1920s through the 1960s, and the third consists of thousands of German programs from the 1920s through the 1960s. We will be auctioning 50 items from each of these collections each week, and while these collections are amazing in their size, PLEASE BE AWARE THAT (with very rare exceptions) THERE IS ONLY ONE OF EACH ITEM, SO IF YOU DON'T BUY AN ITEM, YOU ALMOST CERTAINLY WON'T BE GETTING ANOTHER CHANCE AT THAT ITEM!
Besides those three collections, we will be also auctioning some other "different" types of items (in the first three of these auctions, we will also include 50 presskits in each auction, and future Sunday auctions will include lots of other different types of items we have here.
Every fourth Sunday auction, we will auction 27" x 40" unfolded one-sheets, for we have quite a number of those posters as well. We will continue with those auctions every fourth Sunday, until we exhaust our supply, and then we will consider other options.
Best of all, every Sunday auction will contain at least a handful of "bulk lots". These are items that people consign to us where most or all of them are of fairly low value individually, so we sell them as one large group. Many years ago we sold many of these bulk lots, and they were extremely popular, both with collectors wanting an "instant" collection and with dealers who rightfully knew they could make money by reselling the items individually.
To get to as many of our previous customers to at least try buying one or more items from these new Sunday auctions, we are making the crazy move of getting three of our best full-color movie poster books to everyone who purchases from this, the first of our Sunday auctions.

How are these Sunday auctions different from our Tuesday and Thursday auctions?
The short answer is that they are almost exactly like our Tuesday and Thursday auctions, but with three important differences. One is that they do NOT end at 7 PM CST like those other auctions do, but instead they begin ending at 3 PM CST, which means that our European bidders will not have to get up in the middle of the night to bid at the end of our auctions (and of course, most of our American bidders will not be working on Sundays, so they will have easy access to their computers as well).
The second difference is that there are almost certainly going to be lots and lots of great buys in these new Sunday auctions! It will probably take our bidders a month or two to get in the habit of going to our auctions on Sunday as well as on Tuesday and Thursday, and until they do, there are likely to be far more "bargains" and "real steals" than in the Tuesday and Thursday auctions.
The third difference is that, because the items we are selling on Sunday are either multi-page or more complicated or somewhat three-dimensional, we can't give the same degree of description of the items as we can on Tuesdays and Thursdays. In the case of the magazines, for example, we show the cover, the contents page, and a two-page spread, and we can't answer any questions about the rest of the contents, or the condition of the magazine (although you can read the table of contents of yourself, and you can probably well judge the condition of the magazine from our supersized images). The same is true of the other types of items we are selling. We realize there is a "gambling element" in bidding this way, and we ask you to take this into consideration before you bid.
Finally, note that we have our usual standard shipping on all of the "regular" Sunday items, but the bulk lots have stated shipping that is far higher (because they are so heavy and/or bulky). You can combine as many of the regular items as you want and pay a single shipping charge, but the bulk lots can NOT be combined with the other items, because they are completely packaged by themselves.

About the Condition
Note that we give a detailed overall condition grade to every item we sell ("fine", "very good to fine", "very good", "good to very good", "good", and "fair", with only a few graded "poor") along with more details about the condition described in words (but pretty much only if they are defects that CAN'T be seen in our super-sized images, or if the item is especially valuable).  We felt this would help bidders identify items they want to bid on more easily.  Of course, we still strongly recommend that you look at our super-sized image to see the extent of the defects that we describe and to examine the item for minor defects that we did NOT describe.

If an item is in less than very good condition, should you not bid on it? Of course not, as long as you are accepting of the defects the item has! The item that is graded "very good", but has as many minor defects as is allowed under the "very good" definition is only in SLIGHTLY better condition than the best of the "good to very good" items. So please take the time to look at the larger images of items that interest you, and see if the defects are the sort that you can "live with", or are willing to restore. Some of these items are EXTREMELY rare, and it may be years before you see them offered again!

Payment Options
We accept all major credit cards, either directly over the phone at 417-256-9616 during our regular business hours which are Monday to Friday, 9 AM CST to 5 PM CST except between 12 and 1 when we take lunch, or you can e-mail us payment details, and there are still a few people who fax us!

If you like to pay via Paypal
(our PayPal e-mail is "mail@emovieposter.com"), that is fine, but know that PayPal has many glitches, and you should ABSOLUTELY e-mail us separately when you send us a PayPal payment!

You can send a check or money order (if you do, enclose your address and details about what you purchased) to:
Bruce Hershenson
Attn: Payments
P.O. Box 874
West Plains, MO 65775

If it is your best payment option, you can pay by Western Union (unlike SOME auction sites, we are not prejudiced against Western Union!). But please don't send cash (as we can't be responsible for lost cash)!

U.S. Shipping Details

U.S. buyers need to enclose $9 shipping (which includes full insurance)!

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THE SHIPPING OF THE BULK LOTS WE ARE SELLING: Note that we have our usual standard shipping on all of the "regular" Sunday items, but the bulk lots have stated shipping that is far higher (because they are so heavy and/or bulky). You can combine as many of the regular items as you want and pay a single shipping charge, but the bulk lots can NOT be combined with the other items, because they are completely packaged by themselves.

Why do we charge $9, when we used to charge $9 to $11 on eBay?
We spend $9 (or more) on almost all U.S. orders, because we use such good, heavy packaging (at least twice as strong as that used by most sellers), even on low priced orders (because we believe a low priced item still deserves the best handling)!
We USED to charge $11 for shipping on U.S. orders over $100 when we sold on eBay, but now that we are auctioning on our own site we have lowered that to $9, which is both our way of thanking those who order a lot from us, and also our way of passing on our savings from not paying eBay commissions to our customers!

Will your order be shipped to you by UPS?
UPS does NOT automatically require a signature to deliver packages, so if you want the signature to be required, you will need to pay the extra $2.50 UPS charges for "signature required" Delivery Confirmation, and please realize that they will then NOT leave the package, and you may well have to go to the UPS facility yourself to pick it up.  But if you prefer this, that is fine, and if you have any other special requirements, please tell us when you are paying for your order.  IF YOU DO NOT SPECIFY THAT YOU WANT SIGNATURE REQUIRED, THEN YOUR PACKAGE WILL BE SENT WITHOUT SIGNATURE REQUIRED!

You CAN usually combine shipment!
(NOTE: These Sunday items [except for the bulk lots] must be sent in flat packages and CAN be combined with the window cards, French, and Italian posters we auctioned on 6/16 [but know that you would then have to pay the higher $12 cost of U.S. shipping], and CAN be combined with the heralds and stills we auctioned on 6/18, and CAN be combined with the folded one-sheets we'll be auctioning on 6/23 and 6/25)
Note that we not only allow you to combine as many items as you want from a single set of EITHER Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday auctions, and still pay only a single shipping charge for all of the items, but we also allow you to wait until the next three sets of auctions end (a total of four sets of auctions) so that you can combine your current purchases with those of our following auctions (if possible), and that means there is a chance you could combine items from up to four of our sets of auctions, and still pay only a single shipping charge (assuming those items fit into the same type of package). We KNOW there are other sellers who charge a little less on shipping than we do, but we know that our packaging is the best there is, and our orders virtually never arrive damaged (and on the very rare times that they do, all our U.S. packages are fully insured, and FULL INSURANCE IS INCLUDED IN THE U.S. SHIPPING CHARGE).

DON'T BID ON OUR ITEMS UNLESS YOU WILL PAY THE $9 U.S. SHIPPING!

Non-U.S. Shipping Details

Non-U.S. buyers must pay the actual cost of shipping their order (you can choose whatever method you prefer, but know that the U.S. Post Office has eliminated Surface Mail, so we can only send via Express or Airmail), plus $2 for the best packaging materials you have ever seen.  All non-U.S. buyers must tell us if they want the package sent insured or uninsured at the time they pay for their order.

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THE SHIPPING OF THE BULK LOTS WE ARE SELLING: Note that, as usual, we allow you to combine all of the "regular" Sunday items, but the bulk lots can't be combined, and MUST be sent by themselves.  Also note that the shipping charge for any of hte bulk lots outside of the U.S. will be the actual cost of shipping, and, of course, overseas shipping is almost always much more than U.S. shipping, so PLEASE ONLY BID ON ANY OF THE BULK LOTS IF YOU ARE WILLING TO PAY THE SUBSTANTIAL ACTUAL COST OF NON-U.S. SHIPPING!

Here is a chart containing estimated shipping charges for up to 3 items from this week's auctions (EXCEPT for the bulk lots; see above)
(Note: Insured quotes are based on a $200 value; you pay $1.60 more for each additional $100 of insurance)

Type of Shipping Canada/Mexico Australian/Asia/Japan Everywhere Else (inc Europe)
Airmail - Uninsured $21.71 / $22.61 $29.79 $30.26
Airmail - Insured $23.61 / N/A $32.99 $33.46
Global Express - Insured $34.72 / N/A $38.05 $38.74
Global Express - Uninsured $32.82 / $32.59 $35.35 $36.04
First Class $9.95 / $14.90 $17.92 $17.92

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please bear these approximate shipping cost in mind BEFORE you place a bid (if you live outside the U.S.). The vast majority of our customers want a very securely packed tube, and will pay the extra shipping cost involved (and of course, it goes to the Post Office or UPS, and not us!). Please do not ask us to pack less securely, as that would likely result in a damaged order.
Some sellers are sending by Ground UPS to Canada, but that incurs large "brokerage fees", so we do not recommend it.  Note that there are also some sellers sending non-U.S. packages via a "Letter" rate, but of course this is not legal, and we can not do this.  We have outlined the possibilities for sending non-U.S. packages above, so please read that carefully, BEFORE placing a bid!

Do you have a friend or relative who lives in the United States? Some of our customers either visit the U.S. regularly, or have friends or relatives within the U.S., and often those customers have us send their orders to a U.S. address, and then they transport the posters from there. THIS CAN SAVE YOU A GREAT DEAL ON SHIPPING! This is fine with us, but realize that you still need to let us know within one week of receipt if you want to return anything, so don't use this method unless you are certain you will want to keep your purchases.

DON'T BID ON OUR ITEMS UNLESS YOU WILL PAY THE ACTUAL COST OF SHIPPING (the actual cost of shipping plus $2 outside the U.S.)!

You Can Add More to Your Order
In addition to our current auctions, we offer many other non-auction items. Please note that the items in this week's auction will be sent in flat packages, so you can add any item that can also be sent in a flat package for no additional shipping costs. We have noted in each paragraph below whether the items can be shipped rolled or not.

Fixed Price Posters (most can be shipped rolled but not all can be sent flat; if an item has a "UF" or "TF" in the description, it can only be shipped rolled, but if it has a "FF" in the description, it can likely be sent rolled or flat; please check with us if you are unsure)

WE CURRENTLY HAVE 422 MOVIE POSTERS ON OUR WEBSITE AS "FIXED PRICE" ITEMS!
Click HERE to view these Fixed Price posters on our website (many of them are one-sheets). If we can combine any of the Fixed Price items with your current purchases into a single package, then we won't charge you any added shipping!
