Our 9th Annual Halloween Auction is our largest offering of horror, science fiction, and fantasy posters ever (over 2,500 items in all, and it really is our best Halloween auction to date, in terms of both quantity AND quality)!

This special auction is being run in three (or four!) separate parts:

  • Part I runs from Tuesday 10/21 to Tuesday 10/28 and includes 640 folded one-sheets and 334 lobby cards (1 to 8 cards per title!)

  • Part II runs from Thursday 10/23 to Thursday 10/30 and includes 957 inserts, half-sheets, many Japanese B2 posters, many Belgian posters, posters from 16 other countries, and rolled one-sheets!

  • Part III will run from Tuesday 10/28 to Tuesday 11/4 and will include just about everything that did not fit in the above two parts, including linenbacked posters, window cards, three-sheets, six-sheets, and more!  We know that once you see the items in this section, you will agree that we saved many of the best items for the last part!

  • If we don't finish listing the Part III items in time, then there will be a Part IV, and if so, it will run from Thursday 10/30 to Thursday 11/6!

What distinguishes OUR annual Halloween auction from other major auctions?  Only the lack of any reserves or buyers premiums, enhanced images, over-graded items, and that condescending attitude that many "major" auction houses have!  You will find a truly amazing selection of items from all years, sizes, and countries, and you will only pay the actual cost of shipping (or less), and you will get a great bonus t-shirt, even if you only buy one $1 item!

Start browsing and bidding right now in Part I of our 9th Halloween auction in our Tuesday Auction Gallery and in Part II using our Thursday Auction Gallery (the gallery for Part III will be added 10/28)!  PREPARE TO BE DAZZLED AND HIT WITH "SENSORY OVERLOAD"!

INCREDIBLE!  Every buyer from ANY part of our "Halloween" auctions receives a great super high quality full-color printed t-shirt as a free bonus (even if you only purchase one item)!
We are giving every buyer in ANY part of these special auctions the great full-color T-shirt pictured at right, which shows the image from the one-sheet for Invasion of the Saucer-Men (we will only be making as many t-shirts as there are different buyers in these auctions, so it will be a VERY limited edition, and likely will become a "collector's item" in its own right!). Given that you get this great full-color T-shirt with any purchase, shouldn't you absolutely find any one item to purchase from us from among the roughly 2,000 items in these special auctions?
*Note: we give this shirt (which costs us $9 to $11 each at wholesale, because they are very high quality) to anyone who purchases one or more items in any part of our Halloween auctions.  BUT KNOW THAT YOU ONLY GET ONE SHIRT, NO MATTER HOW MANY ITEMS YOU PURCHASE, AND WHETHER OR NOT YOU PURCHASE FROM ONE OR MORE OF THE PARTS OF THIS SPECIAL AUCTION.

SUPER IMPORTANT!  Normally, you can pay for your purchases by simply adding the total amount you spent, and then adding $9 for U.S. shipping (many of our customers simply e-mail to "put this purchase on my card on file").  BUT IN THIS ONE CASE ONLY (because of the bonus t-shirt), YOU NEED TO ALSO TELL US YOUR SHIRT SIZE!  We can't send your order unless you inform us of what size shirt you want!

About This Week's Items That Were "Formerly Folded"
Note that a fair number of the posters we are selling this week were never folded.  SOME of the posters were once folded (or partially folded, as in tri-folding), but all of those have been stored flat for a long time and will be shipped rolled in tubes, along with the completely unfolded ones.  We always identify if a poster was folded at one time!  We will NOT re-fold any of the "formerly folded" posters, except in the very rare cases where the poster has not in any way "lost" its folds due to laying flat, and where the poster would cost less to send if it is re-folded, than to send it in a tube.

Should Unfolded Half-Sheets and Inserts Sell for a Major Premium over Folded Ones?

For years I have been arguing that the above should be true, and it seems that many collectors are beginning to agree with me! Imagine if baseball cards could be bought in two ways. You could either get them folded in half twice, or get them unfolded. Would not the unfolded ones sell for FAR more in the collector's market than the folded ones? I can't see the difference between this and inserts and half-sheets. It is VERY difficult to find unfolded inserts and half-sheets, but they ARE out there, and I believe we will continue to see their price rise far above that of a folded version (note that most post-1970 inserts and half-sheets were NOT folded, so they are pretty much only found unfolded, and therefore this does not apply to inserts and half-sheets from this time period).  NOTE THAT THE INSERTS AND HALF-SHEETS THAT WE ARE CURRENTLY OFFERING INCLUDE A HUGE NUMBER OF UNFOLDED ONES! Around half of the 274 inserts and half-sheets have never been folded, and roughly one quarter of those 50% are from before 1970, which are the titles you would not expect to find unfolded!  This is a very rare opportunity to purchase unfolded inserts and half-sheets!

About the Originality and Rarity of These Inserts and Half-Sheets
Inserts and half-sheets from the 1960s on are far more rare than the corresponding one-sheets (with the exception of certain inserts and a few half-sheets which have been reproduced; see below). In the last few years, many savvy collectors have begun to seek out inserts and half-sheets, realizing their far greater rarity, and in some cases, are paying more for them than for the corresponding one-sheets! We expect this trend to continue in the coming years! NOTE: In recent years a huge number of inserts of certain top titles of the 1970s have been offered in the collector's market (there are also a couple of "suspect" half-sheets). We believe (as do most major dealers) that these are surely counterfeits. They can be distinguished from genuine inserts and half-sheets by their extra glossy front and back, and their "whiter-than-white" appearance.  ALL OF THE INSERTS AND HALF-SHEETS WE ARE SELLING THIS WEEK ARE 100% GENUINE AND EITHER THEATER-USED OR WERE PRINTED TO BE USED IN THEATERS, BUT WERE FOUND IN POSTER EXCHANGES PRIOR TO GOING TO A THEATER!
I could imagine that some people, seeing the hundreds of wonderful condition inserts and half-sheets we are selling this week, might wonder if possibly THEY could be reproductions! They are not, and they include lots and lots of titles that nobody would ever consider reproducing, which should make sense to anyone, even if they doubted my guarantee that they are authentic! On the other hand, the inserts and half-sheets that all major dealers know are counterfeit are exclusively very collectible titles, exactly the sort a crook would choose to reproduce. All of the inserts and half-sheets we are selling this week are absolutely guaranteed to be authentic (and they include a few of the titles that have been reproduced, but of course, the ones we are offering are guaranteed originals)!

About the Condition of the Posters We Are Selling (see below for additional information about the rolled one-sheets we are selling)
Note that we give a detailed overall condition grade to every item we sell ("fine", "very good to fine", "very good", "good to very good", and "good", with only a few graded "fair" or lesser) along with more details about the condition described in words (but pretty much a general description of the defects, and we only describe specific defects if they are the type that CAN'T be seen in our super-sized images, or if the item is especially valuable). We felt this would help bidders identify items they want to bid on more easily. Of course, we still strongly recommend that you look at our super-sized image to see the extent of the defects that we describe and to examine the poster for minor defects that we did NOT describe.

About Our Rolled One-Sheet Poster Section (#s 2o784-2o954)
Note that most of the posters in our "rolled one-sheet" section (our item numbers 2o784 to 2o954) we are selling this week were never folded. A small number of these posters were once folded (or partially folded, as in tri-folding), but all of those have been stored flat for a long time and will be shipped rolled in tubes, along with the completely unfolded ones.  We will NOT re-fold any of these "formerly folded" posters.  WE ALWAYS IDENTIFY WHETHER A POSTER IS UNFOLDED, TRI-FOLDED, OR FORMERLY FULLY FOLDED WITHIN THE DESCRIPTION FOR EACH ITEM!

About the Originality of Rolled One-Sheets

Many collectors would like to add posters from their favorite movies of the 1980s onward to their collection, but they rightfully are afraid they will be sold commercial posters (or reproductions or bootlegs), rather than actual posters either used in theaters or intended for theater use.  WHEN YOU BUY 1980s ONWARD POSTERS FROM US THIS WEEK, YOU HAVE A GUARANTEE THAT YOU WILL BE BUYING A GENUINE ORIGINAL MOVIE POSTERS!  This is because all of these posters come to us primarily from a theater owner, and also, we here at eMoviePoster very carefully scrutinize every poster to make 100% certain it is genuine!  But you don't have to take our word for it!  If you purchase any poster this week, and you have the slightest doubts about its originality after you receive it, it is fine for you to return it for a full refund within 7 days of receipt (but we virtually never get a single poster returned, because we reject any poster that is consigned to us if we have the slightest doubts about it!).
Note that we normally 27" x 40" and 27" x 41" rolled one-sheets in separate auctions, but this week since we are selling solely horror/sci-fi one-sheets, we are selling both 27" x 40" and 27" x 41" rolled one-sheets together!  We tried to pay close attention to accurately indicate the measurements of each poster, but if you think there may be a mistake in any of our measurements, please e-mail phillip@emovieposter.com, and Phillip will be happy to double-check.

About the Condition of our Rolled One-Sheet Poster Section (#s 2o784-2o954)
Normally when we sell movie paper, we grade the posters on a scale that allows for some defects typical of 30 to 75-year-old movie posters that were actually used in theaters. Such posters often have some minor wear at the very least, and it is next to impossible to find posters that have no wear at all, and it would be silly to have a grading scale where no posters would qualify for "very good to fine" (or better grades), so we use a more "relaxed" scale that allows for very minor defects in our "very good to fine" grade.
But in this section of our Halloween auction, we are selling a fair number of posters from the past 20 to 40 years, and those posters can more often be found in excellent condition, because there were dealers and collectors who purchased these posters unused, and kept them in wonderful condition.
So just for THIS section of this auction, we grade on a MUCH stricter scale than we do for our folded one-sheet auctions! We downgrade posters to "very good to fine" for very minor defects (things like a single tiny tear in the border, or faint creases in the edges). We further downgrade to "very good" posters that have several of these types of defects, even though the poster would probably qualify as "fine", if it was from the 1940s!
We use this "sliding scale" grading because it allows us to better convey the poster's true condition to our buyers. If we used the exact same scale for all posters, then most 1920s posters would be graded as "fair" or "poor", and most 1980s or 1990s posters would be graded as "fine", and we realize that that benefits nobody!
In this section of our Halloween auction, we have given a more detailed overall condition grade ("fine", "very good to fine", "very good", "good to very good", "good", and "fair", with only a few "poor") for each poster. We felt this would help bidders identify items they want to bid on more easily. Of course, we still strongly recommend that you look at our super-sized image to see the extent of the defects.
Know that we generally grade FAR more harshly than any other dealer we know! A 1990s poster that we grade as "good" or "good to very good" may well be one that many collectors could display on their wall just as it is, and may well be one that many other dealers would grade as "very good". So please don't reject a poster because it has a grade of "good" or "good to very good". Please study our supersized image and see if the defects are the sort that you can accept.

Payment Options
We accept all major credit cards, either directly over the phone at 417-256-9616 during our regular business hours which are Monday to Friday, 9 AM CST to 5 PM CST except between 12 and 1 when we take lunch, or you can e-mail us payment details, and there are still a few people who fax us!

If you like to pay via Paypal
(our PayPal e-mail is "mail@emovieposter.com"), that is fine, but know that PayPal has many glitches, and you should ABSOLUTELY e-mail us separately when you send us a PayPal payment!

You can send a check or money order (if you do, enclose your address and details about what you purchased) to:
Bruce Hershenson
Attn: Payments
P.O. Box 874
West Plains, MO 65775

If it is your best payment option, you can pay by Western Union (unlike SOME auction sites, we are not prejudiced against Western Union!).  But please don't send cash (as we can't be responsible for lost cash)!

U.S. Shipping Details

U.S. buyers need to enclose $9 shipping (which includes full insurance)!

Why do we charge $9, when we used to charge $9 to $11 on eBay?
We spend $9 (or more) on almost all U.S. orders, because we use such good, heavy packaging (at least twice as strong as that used by most sellers), even on low priced orders (because we believe a low priced item still deserves the best handling)!
We USED to charge $11 for shipping on U.S. orders over $100 when we sold on eBay, but now that we are auctioning on our own site we have lowered that to $9, which is both our way of thanking those who order a lot from us, and also our way of passing on our savings from not paying eBay commissions to our customers!

You CAN usually combine shipment!
(NOTE: This week's Thursday items must be sent rolled in tubes and can NOT be combined with the folded one-sheets or lobby cards we are auctioning on 10/28, and can NOT be combined with the linenbacked posters we will be auctioning 10/28 to 11/4 [because we hate to ever roll unbacked items in with backed items due to the great chance of damage], and can NOT be combined with the "oversized" and "odd" items we will be auctioning 10/28 to 11/4, because those need to be sent in flat packages, and these items need to be rolled)
Note that we not only allow you to combine as many items as you want from a single week, and still pay only a single shipping charge for all of the items, but we also allow you to wait until next week's auctions end so that you can combine your current purchases with those of our following auctions (if possible), and since we do two sets of auctions every week, that means there is a chance you could combine items from up to four of our sets of auctions, and still pay only a single shipping charge (assuming those items fit into the same type of package). We KNOW there are other sellers who charge a little less on shipping than we do, but we know that our packaging is the best there is, and our orders virtually never arrive damaged (and on the very rare times that they do, all our U.S. packages are fully insured, and FULL INSURANCE IS INCLUDED IN THE $9 U.S. SHIPPING CHARGE).

DON'T BID ON OUR ITEMS UNLESS YOU WILL PAY THE $9 U.S. SHIPPING!

Non-U.S. Shipping Details

Non-U.S. buyers must pay the actual cost of shipping their order (you can choose whatever method you prefer, but know that the U.S. Post Office has eliminated Surface Mail, so we can only send via Express or Airmail), plus $2 for the best packaging materials you have ever seen.  All non-U.S. buyers must tell us if they want the package sent insured or uninsured at the time they pay for their order.

Note that we will assume that all non-U.S. buyers want the great bonus t-shirt, unless they specifically tell us they do not want it!  We will roll the t-shirt around your poster purchase and put it in the same tube, as long as we feel we can do that safely, but of course, if you purchase any flat items from one of the other sections of this auction, then we will put your bonus t-shirt in with the flat items.

Here is a chart containing estimated shipping charges for up to 3 items from this week's auctions
(Note: Insured quotes are based on a $200 value; you pay $1.60 more for each additional $100 of insurance)

Type of Shipping Canada/Mexico Australian/Asia/Japan Everywhere Else (inc Europe)
Airmail - Uninsured $22 $34 $33
Airmail - Insured N/A $39 $37
Global Express - Insured $39 $44 $44
Global Express - Uninsured $36 $41 $41
First Class $11.57/$17.53 $22 $22

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please bear this shipping cost in mind BEFORE your place a bid (if you live outside the U.S.). The vast majority of our customers want a very securely packed tube, and will pay the extra shipping cost involved (and of course, it goes to the Post Office or UPS, and not us!). Please do not ask us to pack less securely, as that would likely result in a damaged order.
Some sellers are sending by Ground UPS to Canada, but that incurs large "brokerage fees", so we do not recommend it.  Note that there are also some sellers sending non-U.S. packages via a "Letter" rate, but of course this is not legal, and we can not do this.  We have outlined the possibilities for sending non-U.S. packages above, so please read that carefully, BEFORE placing a bid!

Do you have a friend or relative who lives in the United States? Some of our customers either visit the U.S. regularly, or have friends or relatives within the U.S., and often those customers have us send their orders to a U.S. address, and then they transport the posters from there. THIS CAN SAVE YOU A GREAT DEAL ON SHIPPING! This is fine with us, but realize that you still need to let us know within one week of receipt if you want to return anything, so don't use this method unless you are certain you will want to keep your purchases.

DON'T BID ON OUR ITEMS UNLESS YOU WILL PAY THE ACTUAL COST OF SHIPPING (the actual cost of shipping plus $2 outside the U.S.)!

You Can Add More to Your Order
In addition to our current auctions, we offer many other non-auction items. Please note that the items in this week's auction will mostly be sent rolled in tubes, so you can add any item that can easily be rolled for no additional shipping costs. We have noted in each paragraph below whether the items can be shipped rolled or not.

WE CURRENTLY HAVE 422 MOVIE POSTERS ON OUR WEBSITE AS "FIXED PRICE" ITEMS!
