Kathleen Burke was an actress during the 1930s. She was an 18 year old dental assistant in Chicago (and a part-time fashion model, who had also done some radio and stage acting) and was one of 60,000 women who submitted her photograph for a contest Paramount Pictures held for the role of "The Panther Woman" in Island of Lost Souls in 1932. But her exotic looks made her hard to cast, and she never really had much success (her best roles were in The Lives of a Bengal Lancer with Gary Cooper, and The Last Outpost with Cary Grant, both in 1935) and in 1938, at the age of 25, she married for the third time and had a child and retired! She passed away in 1980 at the age of 66.
