BEN HECHT
Ben Hecht was a screenwriter, director, producer, playwright, journalist, and novelist from the 1910s to the 1960s. A journalist in his youth, he went on to write 35 books and some of the most enjoyed screenplays and plays in America. He received screen credits, alone or in collaboration, for the stories or screenplays of some seventy films, including six Academy Award nominations and two wins. Some of his movies include: Underworld (winner of the Best Writing Academy Award), The Scoundrel (shared winner of the Best Writing Academy Award), Notorious, Scarface, and Angels Over Broadway. He passed away in 1964 at the age of 70.
