Gene Fowler was a journalist, author, and dramatist from the 1920s to the 1960s. Some of his movies include: Shoot the Works, White Fang and Ali Baba Goes to Town. He wrote "Minutes of the Last Meeting", telling of his efforts to write a biography of Sadakichi Hartmann, and in trying to do so, he interviewed John Barrymore, W.C. Fields, and John Decker, and he tells of those encounters in this book. He passed away in 1960 at the age of 70.
