Jean de Paleologu (often known as PAL) was a Romanian poster artist, painter, and illustrator from the 1880s to the 1940s. He painted portraits of comedians and music-hall performers, and created some of the most influential poster advertisements for bicycle manufacturers and cycling events, which often featured beautiful women. His work also appeared in many periodicals, including: Vanity Fair, Strand Magazine, and the New York Herald Tribune. He passed away in 1942 at the age of 87.
