TURTLES

The Turtles are a rock band from the 1960s to 1970. Originally formed as a surf music band, The Turtles first achieved success with a sound that fused folk and rock. The band would achieve greater success performing pop. and they scored their biggest and best-known hit in 1967 with the song Happy Together. After they waned commercially, the band broke up in 1970. Members Howard Kaylan and Mark Volman reunited in 1983 under the name Flo & Eddie (they could not use the name "The Turtles" due to some legal issue) as a comedy rock band. In 2010, a reconstituted version of the band, The Turtles featuring Flo & Eddie, began performing live shows again.
