DIZZY DEAN

Dizzy Dean was a former professional baseball sports pitcher, playing for the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, and the St. Louis Browns from 1930 to 1947. He was a four time All-Star, 1934 World Series champion, and went on to become a popular radio sports commentator (this was not without controversy, because Mr. Dean spoke very colloquially, and there was a movement to have him taken off the air, because he was a "bad influence" on kids, but America rallied behind him!). He passed away in 1974 at the age of 64.
