Oskar Werner was born in Vienna, Austria in 1922, and first appeared in German movies as early as 1941, but it was not until 1951 that he appeared in a Hollywood movie. He achieved major international stardom in Francois Truffaut's romantic love triangle Jules et Jim in 1962. Four years later he starred in Truffaut's English language adaptation of Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451. Both are great movies, and well worth seeing! Some of his other movies include: Ship Of Fools (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), Fahrenheit 451, and Mozart. He passed away in 1984 at the age of 61.
