OLGA KORBUT

Olga Korbut was a Belarusian gymnast from the 1960s until her retirement from gymnastics in 1977. At the age of 22, she won a total of four gold medals in the 1972 and 1976 Olympics, and has the Korbut flip named after her. She and her family later emigrated to the United States after the Chernobyl disaster. In 2017, she auctioned many personal possessions, including her gold medals.
