PHIL SPITALNY

Phil Spitalny was a Russian-born composer and musician from the 1930s to the 1950s. He was the leader of the Hour of Charm All Girl Orchestra, the 22-piece ensemble featured Evelyn and Her Magical Violin (who eventually became Mrs. Spitalny), which was one of the only all-girl Big Bands! Some of his songs include: Now's the Time to Fall in Love, Shine on Harvest Moon, and I Want to Meander in the Meadow. Spitalny passed away in 1970 at the age of 79.
