JOHN HOUSEMAN

John Houseman was a Romanian-born British-American producer and actor from the 1930s to the 1980s. He often collaborated with Orson Welles (he was an uncredited assistant on Citizen Kane, and he was in Welles Mercury Theatre), and was the founding director of the Drama Division at The Juilliard School. In his later life, he turned to acting, and while he is surely best remembered for his role as Professor Kingsford in The Paper Chase (winner of the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), he was also in other movies including: Rollerball, The Naked Gun, and Scrooged (as himself). He passed away in 1988 at the age of 86.
