BARBARA BENNETT

Barbara Bennett was an actress from the 1910s to the 1930s. She was the mostly forgotten middle sister of Joan and Constance Bennett. She came from a famous acting family (her parents were Richard Bennett and Adrienne Morrison). She appeared in only five movies, and then, unlike her sisters, she retired in 1930 at the age of 24, after she married Morton Downey, a popular bandleader; they were married for eleven years, and had five children, one of whom grew up to be Morton Downey, Jr.! Sadly, she committed suicide in 1958 at the age of 52.
