Susanna Foster (born Suzanne Larson) was an actress and singer from the 1930s to the 1940s (with one additional role in 1992). Susanna was brought to Hollywood at the age of 12 by MGM, who sent her to school and groomed her for a singing and acting career. Two of her classmates in school were Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland. However, MGM never used her, and she was eventually signed by Paramount in 1939. Despite becoming a huge star over the course of several popular films, she abruptly quit acting in 1945. Some of her movies include: The Great Victor Herbert, The Hard-Boiled Canary, Phantom of the Opera, Bowery to Broadway, and Detour. She passed away in 2009 at the age of 84.
