HILO HATTIE

Hilo Hattie was a native Hawaiian was born Clarissa Haili, but took the name Hilo Hattie when she started dancing the hula professionally; she appeared in some movies in the 1940s and later in some TV shows; she became a Hawaiian icon, and her name was given to a line of clothing there, and there is a chain of Hilo Hattie stores in both Hawaii and in the continental United States! She passed away in 1979 at the age of 78.
