NICK STEWART

Nick Stewart was a black African American actor who is best remembered as the voice of Br'er Bear in Disney's "Song of the South" and as the last surviving performer from TV's "Amos 'n' Andy". Together with his wife he founded the Ebony Showcase Theatre in Los Angeles in 1950, which provided a place for up and coming black performers to be noticed. He passed away in 2000 at the age of 90.
