GERTRUDE EDERLE
Gertrude Ederle was a freestyle competition swimmer from the 1920s to the 1930s. She was the very first woman to swim the English Channel, and won a fold metal in the 1924 Paris Olympics! Ederle passed away in 2003 at the of 98.
