Bella Darvi (born Bajla Wegier) was a Polish actress from the 1950s to the 1970s. She was discovered by Darryl F. Zanuck and his wife Virginia, and her stage name came from a combination of Darryl & Virginia. Some of her movies include: The Egyptian, Hell & High Water, and The Racers. She passed away in 1971 at the age of 42. She committed suicide. She had gambling debts, and was no doubt dealing with the fact she was at one time imprisoned for being a Polish Jew in World War II.
