ROSINA LAWRENCE

Rosina Lawrence was a Canadian actress from the 1920s to the 1930s. She intended to be a professional dancer, but she had gotten tiny roles as a teenager in two major movies, and by the mid 1930s, she started getting better movie roles. She had what might have been a star-making small role in The Great Ziegfeld in 1936, playing a character based on Marilyn Miller, but her scenes were cut! She next signed with Hal Roach, and she appeared in several movies with Laurel & Hardy, and she was the school teacher "Miss Lawrence" in later 1930s Our Gang comedy shorts (following Miss McGillicuddy and Miss Crabtree). She quit acting to raise a family in the laet 1930s, and she passed away in 1997 at the age of 84.
