FAYARD NICHOLAS

Fayard Nicholas was a legendary black African American dancer together with his brother Harold from the 1930s to the 1950s. The brothers did acrobatic dancing that was the equal of Gene Kelly, but due to the prejudices of the time, they never achieved the mainstream stardom they would have had they not been black. Fayard passed away in 2006 at the age of 91.
