Edward Dmytryk was a Canadian director from the 1930s to the 1970s. Some of his movies include: Hitler's Children, The Caine Mutiny, Warlock, and The Carpetbaggers. After a very promising beginning to his career making movies in the 1940s and early 1950s, Dmytryk became one of the "Hollywood Ten", as a former communist, and he was unable to work in Hollywood, and he moved to England. However, he returned to the U.S. in 1951 and was put in jail for six months. But afterwards, he returned to directing. In 1946, he had met actress Jean Porter while making "Till the End of Time", and two years later, they married, even though she was 14 years his junior. She remained loyal to him throughout his blacklisting, and they remained married until 1999, when he passed away at the age of 90. She passed away in 2018 at the age of 95.
