For unknown reasons, every example of this poster we have previously seen has measured 27\" x 40\" (instead of 27\" x 41\").  When we auctioned those, we checked with many Star Wars experts and they all agreed that there was never a 27\" x 41\" version issued, and that the 27\" x 40\" posters are originals (and that there are no known bootlegs or reproductions of this poster).  However, it turns out that all the experts were wrong, in one respect.  It seems likely that the posters <b>WERE<\/b> trimmed to 27\" x 40\" before they were distributed and folded, but there was <b>ONE<\/b> example of this poster that was 27\" x 41\" and was never folded!  Almost certainly, this poster was a test poster which somehow survived without being trimmed or folded.  It comes to us as one of the final three posters from the amazing Kevin Doyle Collection (we previously auctioned most of his incredible Star Wars posters in a special \"Star Wars only\" auction).  This may well be the only example of this poster that is unfolded and measures 27\" x 41\"!\n<p style='border: 1px solid black; background: rgb(255,255,240); padding: 5px; width: 500px;'>\n<font color=\"red\"><b>UPDATED 12\/08\/2015:<\/font><\/b> Note that a very long time collector\/dealer of Star Wars posters tells us that many years ago he had several rolled examples of this 27x41 unfolded poster. He can't tell us where they are now, or if they surely still exist. But we wanted to share this information with bidders, to let them know that there may well be other examples of this poster that survive (but we have no further details, nor do we know where another unfolded 27x41 example is). But this points out the great difficulty with saying \"only one known\" or \"one of two known\", because you never know if other people will turn up with additional examples (the sole exception to this is with the Canadian Star Wars Trilogy poster we are currently auctioning, because in that case, there WERE only two posters created in the first place)!\n<\/p>\n\n");
