Film Description

Without Reservations, the 1946 Mervyn LeRoy post-World War II (WWII) military U.S. Marine Corps railroad train traveling author mistaken identity romantic comedy (based on the novel "Thanks, God! I'll Take It From Here" by Jane Allen & Mae Livingston) starring Claudette Colbert, John Wayne, Don DeFore, Anne Triola, Miss Louella Parsons, and Raymond Burr (best remembered for playing the title role in TV's "Perry Mason")

More About This Item

Note that many of the better 1940s and 1950s movies were re-released to theaters in the 1960s (but we have not been able to track down the exact year of these re-releases). For these re-releases, four-page pressbooks were made. Often, these four-page pressbooks are mistakenly sold as first release pressbooks, because they re-print material from the first release, and there is nothing anywhere on them to indicate that they are from re-releases. Also note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of the pressbook, plus an image of any supplements or heralds (if there are any included with this pressbook), but of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are selling (plus any supplements or heralds described above)!

Note: "emovieposter" is only on our digital image, NOT on the actual item. Also, we are changing our photography setup! Images with a solid black background are ones that were photographed on our new black metal background. We now hold the posters in place with magnets (so we do not attach the poster to the wall in any way), which are small and round and resemble "push pins", but we assure you they are NOT! If an image has a black background, know that the odd circles in the edges of the item are magnets that hold it in place, and are NOT a defect!
Overall Condition:
very good to fine
Notable Defects: The pressbook has some very minor wear but is in pretty nice condition!

Explanation Of What This Condition Grade Means:
This item has only a few VERY minor imperfections. We may have written just a few words about those imperfections, but we may not have, as they are very minor. Note that we are very harsh condition graders, and that our "very good to fine" compares favorably to many dealers' "fine" condition! You should look at our "super-sized" image of the actual item, which will confirm just how nice this item is!

More About This Poster Type: Pressbooks were made for every movie since the 1910s through the 1970s. Each is filled with lots of information about the movie that is contained no where else, including pictures of the posters and articles and ads as well, and the cover of the pressbook is often a poster that could be framed. Yet, because many collectors don't know about pressbooks, they often sell for less than the price of a single lobby card from the same movie! Note that pressbooks often contain single sided pages. The page count above refers to the number of SIDES of pages that have printing. If a pressbook has 10 pages with printing on one side each, it would say 10 pages above; if it has 10 pages with printing on both sides each, it would say 20 pages.
