More About This Item Featuring Richard Amsel Artwork Note that this poster was never machine folded (which is incredibly rare for a three-sheet of ANY year!; you will find tri-folded three-sheets from movies of the 1960s on, but I don't recall ever seeing an unfolded three-sheet before!). An unfolded poster is almost always far more difficult to find than a folded poster of the same title, and finding unfolded posters in excellent condition is even more difficult! This three-sheet was printed in 1 section. Note that next to the lot number in the title of this auction we put "UF". The "UF" is a note for our shipping department to let them know the poster is stored "UnFolded". This allows us to more quickly find the item in our warehouse, therefore helping us to ship all orders as quickly as possible. Other items will have either a "UF" (UnFolded), "TF" (Tri-Folded), or "FF" (Fully Folded) next to the lot number, but please know that no matter which you buy (or if you buy any combination thereof), you only pay a single U.S. shipping charge (non-U.S. orders are charged the actual cost of shipping), as we can unfold tri-folded or fully folded posters and roll them in with unfolded posters, thus sending a single package.
Overall Condition: fine Notable Defects: The poster has the most minor of wear, but is overall in excellent condition!
Explanation Of What This Condition Grade Means: This item is in really excellent condition! It has the most minor of imperfections, but has survived in really wonderful condition! Note that we do not use terms like "mint" or "near mint". "Fine" is our highest grade, and it compares favorably to most dealers' "near mint" or "mint". You should look at our "super-sized" image of the actual item, which will confirm just how nice this item is!
More About This Poster Type: Three-sheets are posters that measure approximately 41" x 81". When the studios began making posters, they could only print sizes up to 27" x 41". So, in order to make the 41" x 81" poster they printed three sections of the smaller size that could be combined to form the larger poster (this is why they are called "three-sheets"). Beginning in the early 1930s through the 1980s, new technology allowed for three-sheets to be printed with 2 sheets (usually one larger section and one smaller section). Sometime in the 1970s some three-sheets were printed with a single three-sheet-sized piece. The number of sheets this poster is composed of is noted above. The separate pieces were designed to overlap, so that when they were glued together (or nowadays linenbacked together) they match up so that they appear to be a single printed image. The image we show of non-linenbacked three-sheets has the individual sections overlapping each other to give you the best sense of the overall poster.
