An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (pb; measures 12 1/4" x 18 1/4" [31 x 46 cm]; 8 pages) (Learn More)
My Foolish Heart, the 1950 Mark Robson ("who gave you 'Champion' and 'Home of the Brave'") romantic love affair tragic melodrama ("Some men can say more with a touch than others with a fierce embrace"; "'I was a nice girl - wasn't I?'"; "Please wait until you know the Truth"; "Wait until you know The Truth about 'My Foolish Heart'"; "Based on a Story in the New Yorker by J.D. Salinger"; about a woman who has an affair with a man and becomes pregnant, and the man is killed in World War II, so the woman marries a man she doesn't love so that her child will have a name and a father, but she is very unhappy and becomes an alcoholic) starring Dana Andrews, Susan Hayward (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Kent Smith, Lois Wheeler, Jessie Royce Landis, Robert Keith, and Gigi Perreau. Note that this movie was based on the story "Uncle Wiggily in Connecticut", written by J.D. Salinger, best known as the ultra reclusive author of "The Catcher in the Rye". This was the only one of Salinger's stories which he allowed to be adapted into a movie (he so hated what Hollywood did to his story that he has refused to allow any other of his works to be adapted as movies, and he has a stipulation in his will to keep that going after his death, but who knows if that is possible?).
Important Added Info: Note that this pressbook was printed in the United States for use at theaters with Spanish speaking audiences (this was done most by MGM, starting in the 1930s, but it was done by the other major studios as well, and often the posters would have the exact same image as the English language poster, except the writing would be in Spanish, and on posters from the 1930s and 1940s there would be an added "Toda en Espanol!", meaning "Entirely in Spanish!", printed within the image). Sometimes posters from the 1960s or later will have the word "SPANISH" printed in the bottom border (or sometimes stamped on the back of the poster). Also note that this pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners purchased pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut!

Overall Condition: very good. The pressbook is complete and uncut and it was never folded. It has minor wear around the edges. (Learn More)
