Somewhere in the early 1960s, MGM apparently made a huge "trade" deal with European movie distributors. From the early 1960s to the late 1960s, MGM released 100 or more non-U.S. movies in the U.S. under the MGM logo (some dating back to the 1950s), and in return, they apparently gave 100 or more MGM movies (from the 1950s and early 1960s) to those European distributors to release in Europe. All of the posters and lobby cards from both sets of releases have a very similar type of somewhat garish, very colorful artwork, and most have an MGM logo that is different from that on other MGM movies of the same time period. None of these posters or lobby cards (except for the very first few of them) have any dates on them. Over the years, I have seen many of these posters and lobby cards (from both types) sold as first release, but I believe that they are all mid to late 1960s re-releases, and that the ones from U.S. movies are "international" posters and lobby cards, so if the movie was made in the 1950s, then these are re-releases, but if the movie was made in the 1960s, then these are first international release. This particular poster is one of the movies that was a European movie sent to MGM for an English language release. If anyone knows more about these MGM releases, please e-mail us and we will post it here. This one-sheet does not have any NSS information.Overall Condition: very good to fine. There is a foreign stamp in the top right background area, but otherwise, the poster is in nice condition! (Learn More) ![]() Our watermark is not on the actual item.
