What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the top right crossfold and somewhat minor wear on the folds. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. Someone mounted it onto a thin linen and they taped it to a mat with tape over the blank borders. The tape was later removed, but it left staining and paper loss in all the blank borders (see our image). The poster also acquired a few creases in the top center, in the brim of the hat. We leave it to bidders to decide how significant these border defects are (and obviously, the poster could be restored, either with or without removing it from the old backing.
