An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Six-Sheet Movie Poster (6sh; measures 81" x 81") (Learn More) The Garden of Eden, the 1928 Lewis Milestone silent Paris, France romantic comedy ("The Hotel Eden appraised her at once as a princess"; "Based on the play by Rudolf Bernnauer and Rudolph Oesterreicher"; a modern re-telling of the Cinderella fairy tale, with a small town girl who visits Paris, and who wins over a dashing playboy after she has transformed into an elegant beauty by a mysterious "fairy godmother") starring Corinne Griffith ("Her First United Artists Picture"), Lowell Sherman, Louise Dresser, Charles Ray, and Maude George. Note that director Lewis Milestone and art director William Cameron Menzies went on to great triumphs, but both had already been active in movies for a full decade! Important Added Info: Note that this movie was a re-telling of the Cinderella fairy tale, but it was titled after the biblical Garden of Eden, and the poster designer of the six-sheet created great border art of the serpent on the left and the apple on the right! Condition: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at some crossfolds and very minor fold and border wear. Overall, the poster was in very good to fine condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, but after it was backed it was roughly handled and there are now creases down the left and right edges of the poster, mostly in the excess linen, but extending into the edges of the poster on both sides. I don't know how easy it would be to repair this, but it is not very noticeable and it is in the blank borders, which will not show when the poster is framed. Other than this defect in the left and right borders, the poster was in excellent condition both before and after it was backed! Learn More about condition grades
