A Folded Belgian Special Poster (measures 56 3/4" x 86 1/4" [144 x 219 cm]) (Learn More) Mechelen, the 1905 Belgian poster promoting a series of festivals and events which were held in the Belgian city of Mechelen (Malines) to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Belgian Independence. The celebration lasted from June 18th to August 27th, and featured events which included: gymnastic exhibitions, an archery competition, a celebration of the 1302 Battle of the Golden Spurs (in which the Flemish were victorious over the French), an agricultural exhibition, a military festival and many fireworks/pyrotechnic displays. Note that this poster features Albert Geudens art of a woman holding flowers, and angelic figure, and the coat-of-arms of Mechelen Artist: Albert Geudens Important Added Info: Note that this special poster was printed in 4 sections designed to overlap.
