An Original Vintage French Magazine (measures 9 1/2" x 12 1/4" [24 x 31 cm]) (Learn More) Le Crapouillot, the French magazine that ran from 1915 to 1996. It was started in 1915 by a French soldier, and distributed to his fellow soldiers in the trenches in World War I ("Le Crapouillot" was a nickname for the small toads that were frequently found in the trenches!). Over the years, it became more and less political through different wars and eras. If anyone knows more about this magazine, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Important Added Info: Note that this is a special issue of this long-running French magazine that was published on March 16, 1922, and is devoted entirely to the arts ("Arts, Lettres, Spectacles"). The cover has a "tipped-in" image from the movie "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari", and it includes many articles about movies, including ones with Charlie Chaplin and an article with another image from The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. There are pictures of movie posters from a French movie theater and much more, but of course, it is all in French. We have never auctioned this magazine before! Note that we have provided a picture of the front cover of the magazine, and pictures of interior two-page spreads (including the table of contents page if there is one; but we didn't make much effort to find the best ones!). These images should greatly help you judge the overall condition of the magazine, and the contents page lets you know exactly what articles and stories are contained in this particular issue. Please know that these magazines are sealed in bags and are ready for shipping, and we cannot answer any questions about them or look through them for you, so please bid (or do not bid) based on the images we have provided. Condition: very good. Note that we have attempted to check to see if the magazine is complete and uncut, and we believe that it is. However, there is a slight possibility that we might have missed a small cut or a page that was neatly removed, and if that happens, you can return the magazine. We have solely provided an overall description of the condition of the magazine, but you can also refer to our super-sized images. Please bid (or not bid) based on that overall grade and by viewing the super-sized images. Learn More about condition grades
