Date Sold 12/10/2015Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More) What Every Girl Should Know, the 1927 Charles Reisner silent romantic adoption tennis melodrama ("Based upon the story by John Wagner"; about a 17 year old girl and her young brother, who are sent to an orphanage when their older brother is sent to prison for a crime he did not commit; they are adopted by a rich young man, and she becomes a tennis champion, and the rich young man falls in love with her and after some difficulties, he gets her brother out of prison and they plan to be married) starring Patsy Ruth Miller, Ian Keith, Mickey McBan, Carroll Nye, and Lillian Langdon. Note that in the 1920s, there were a lot more orphanages than nowadays, because there was no "safety net" for the children of deceased parents. There are a lot of movies in which men adopt teenage girls out of orphanages and then marry them. Apparently, that was something that was not unusual at that time! Also, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that first release 1927 movie posters from this movie are incredibly rare. We have only auctioned a single one-sheet from this movie (and that was 23 years ago) until we received this insert! Also note that this poster has never been machine folded! However, we would much prefer not to attempt to roll this poster, because of its age, so we will send it in a large flat package. Condition: very good. The poster was never folded. It has a slightly diagonal crease 5" from the bottom of the poster. It has darkening in the lower part of the right blank border, with a small tear in the right border and a small tear in the middle of the left border, with some faint staining in the top of the left border and in the left of the top blank border. Other than the above defects, which are pretty minor, the poster is in pretty nice condition. Learn More about condition grades
