An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Campaign Book (measures 8" x 9" [20 x 23 cm]; 118 pages) (Learn More)

MGM 1936-37, the 1936 spiral-bound campaign book ("Leo's Candid Camera Book") featuring information about the upcoming events, movies, the stars, and the staff from MGM in 1936-37 with short descriptions of each movie and cast. Note that this book was made in two versions. One had lots of black & white charcoal images of their top stars, with some nice color artwork images scattered throughout. The other did not have a single illustration on any page, not even the MGM logo. Obviously, this was likely because this was printed at the height of The Great Depression, so it seems likely that they sent the elaborate version to their top theaters and the no illustration version to small theaters. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
Artist: Al Hirschfeld
Important Added Info: Note that this is the deluxe version of this book, with many images (see above).

Condition: good. There is surface paper loss in the lower middle of the cover, where something sticky was set on top of it, and when it was removed, it caused the surface paper damage (see our image). Also, someone cut out most of an interior page, because they needed an image of Spencer Tracy, but they later glued it back in. You can see where it was glued and there is staining on the "join", but it does not affect either side of the page. Otherwise, the book is in surprisingly nice condition!
