An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Italian Two-Panel (known in Italy as a "4 Fogli") Movie Poster (2p; measures 55" x 78" [140 x 198 cm]) (Learn More)

Lucrezia Borgia, the 1940 Han Hinrich Italian historical romantic melodrama starring Isa Pola (in the title role as Lucrezia Borgia), Carlo Ninchi, Nerio Bernardi, Friedrich Benfer (billed as "Federico Benfer"), Pina De Angelis, and Luigi Almirante. Note that Lucrezia Borgia was a Spanish/Italian noblewoman who was the daughter of a Pope in the late 1400s, and her father and her brother, Cesar, saw her beauty as a way to gain great power, and they helped arrange marriages for her to multiple highly influential men, some of whom died under mysterious circumstances (and Lucrezia herself only lived to be 39), and stories about the Borgias and their lives have filled many, many books and movies, and likely only a small amount of what has been written is accurate!
Artist: Luigi Martinati
Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned any movie paper items from this movie until we received this poster, which is a "country of origin" poster for this Italian movie! This is an extremely rare Italian poster from during World War II! Virtually no Italian posters survive from before, during, or right after World War II (mostly only some heavy stock lobby cards, and even those are rare). Apparently there were many paper shortages in Italy during World War II, resulting in the destruction of almost all posters from before World War II, and also from during the war, and the first few years afterwards! Also note that this Italian two-panel was printed in 2 sections designed to overlap.

Condition: good. Both sections of the poster have tears and tiny paper loss on parts of the folds and borders (see our image).
