An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Mexican Movie Poster (measures 25 3/4" x 35 1/4" [65 x 90 cm]) (Learn More) Las Puertas del Presidio (literally translates to "The Gates of the Prison"), the 1949 Emilio Gomez Muriel Mexican romantic prisoner crime melodrama (from the novel by Eduardo Zamacois; a man is falsely imprisoned for robbery by his boss) starring David Silva, Blanca Estella Pavon, Andres Soler, Jose Angel Espinosa (billed as "Ferrusquilla"), Luis Beristain, and Josefina del Mar. It appears this movie was never released in the U.S. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is a "country of origin" poster for this Mexican movie! Condition: good. The poster has slight discoloration scattered in some areas from exposure to moisture. It has some paper loss in a few portions of the edges (see our image) and some writing at lower left. This Mexican poster is somewhat fragile. Mexican posters were printed on a paper stock that often ages very poorly, and also darkens. This poster has darkened somewhat and is more fragile along the foldlines (but of course, any talented restorer could linenback the poster, after which it would look great).
