What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the top and bottom crossfolds, with three small areas of paper loss in the right of the bottom fold (in the white background area), and some tiny bits of paper loss and separation on parts of the other folds. It had some tiny tears around the edges, with a tape stain in the upper right border. It had darkening at a diagonal in the bottom border and some faint brown stains scattered in parts of the white background areas. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above.
