a lot of 2 examples of the pressbook for Three Superstars of Shock, the 1972 MGM triple-bill release ("Let the '3 Superstars of Shock' take you on a triple trip to where terror began!"; "The original 3 hounds of horror in a screamingly terrifying triple show.") of three horror thrillers: Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, the classic 1931 Rouben Mamoulian horror melodrama (based on the Robert Louis Stevenson novel) starring Fredric March, Rose Hobart, and Miriam Hopkins; The Mask of Fu Manchu, the 1932 Charles Brabin science fiction thriller starring Boris Karloff, Myrna Loy (amazingly, she made 78 movies between 1925 and 1933, and she FINALLY got her big break when she signed with MGM, and the next year she made both "The Thin Man" and "Manhattan Melodrama", and the rest, as they say, was history!; but what took Hollywood and filmgoers so long to recognize her amazing beauty and talent?), Charles Starrett, and Jean Hersholt (much-liked actor who made 142 movies, mostly between the middle 1910s and the early 1940s; he had a series of movies where he played the benevolent Dr. Paul Christian, but he is surely best remembered today for his many humanitarian deeds, including helping found the Motion Picture Relief Fund, and his name is attached to one of the most prestigious Academy Awards, the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award); and Mark of the Vampire, the 1935 Tod Browning horror thriller starring Bela Lugosi, Lionel Barrymore, Lionel Atwill, Elizabeth Allan, and Donald MeekMeasurements: each measures approximately 8 1/2" x 13 1/4"
