A Set of 6 Unfolded Special Posters (measure 18 1/2" x 24" [47 x 61 cm]) (Learn More) Cap'n (Captain) Crunch is a product line of sweetened corn and oat breakfast cereals introduced in 1963 and manufactured by Quaker Oats Company. The product line is heralded by a cartoon mascot named Cap'n Crunch, a sea captain of the S.S. Guppy (whose full name is Horatio Magellan Crunch), and many commercials have featured additional characters such as Smedley, Jean LaFoote, Alfie, Brunhilde, Carlyle, Dave, Sea Dog, and Crunchberry Beast If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned ANY of these posters! We found reference to the art as having been drawn in 1969, so surely the posters were distributed that year, or soon after. They are INCREDIBLY rare! Condition: good to very good. Each of the posters have never been folded. The one with Cap'n Crunch has a few creases scattered in various areas with a small patch of slight discoloration at lower left. The one with La Foote has a tiny patch of slight discoloration at lower left in his foot, and a few minor creases. The one with Brunhilde has a light horizontal crease at center and some tiny creases around the edges (it is in "very good" condition). The other three posters have light rippling and slight discoloration scattered in various areas due to exposure to moisture and some paper loss and some defects around the edges (they are in "good" condition).
