An Original Vintage Theatrical Style A Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More)

The Eagle and the Hawk, the 1933 Stuart Walker World War I (WWI) military romantic love triangle Royal Air Force Squadron airplane aviation fighter pilot thriller ("They dedicated their lives... to DEATH!"; "Live with Men who don't live long!"; "By the author or 'Wings'"; a wild story of American pilots in the RAF in World War I; an ace pilot has great animosity for an "observer", the person who flies with the pilot and helps spot the enemy, but they must fly missions together; the pilot finally succumbs to the endless stress and commits suicide, and the observer wants him to remain a hero, so he takes his body up in a plane and makes it look like he was killed in action) starring Fredric March, Cary Grant, Carole Lombard (third billed in this war movie, in a small role, playing "The Beautiful Lady"!), Jack Oakie, and Guy Standing. Note that this was still early enough in Cary Grant's career that he had the unsympathetic role of the observer, while Fredric March had the glamorous role of the ace war pilot!

Important Added Info: Glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline).

Condition: very good to fine. The theater that used this slide wrote the days the movie was playing in the playdates section at the bottom of the glass. Otherwise, the glass slide itself is in nice condition and the cardboard holder has some minor smudges (as can be seen in our super-sized images).
