He was the second son of Charlie Chaplin and Lita Grey, and his mother called him "Tommy" due to her distaste for his father's half-brother Sydney, after whom he had been officially named. After his parents bitter divorce, he and his brother Charles were raised by their mother and maternal grandmother until the mid-1930s, when they began to make frequent visits to their father. Some of his movies include: Ho!, A Countess From Hong Kong, Four Girls in Town, and Limelight.
