An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Movie Window Card (WC; measures 14" x 18" [36 x 46 cm]) (Learn More)

Shadow of the Law, the 1930 Louis J. Gasnier crime thriller ("Wanted! for a crime he didn't commit"; based on the play 'The Quarry' by Max Marcin and the novel of the same name by John A. Moroso; a wild story of a man who has a woman break into his apartment chased by her drunken boyfriend, and he tries to help the woman, and the drunk falls out a window, and dies, and the man gets convicted of the drunk's murder; he is sentenced to life in prison, but he escapes, and he becomes a respected member of the community, but someone who discovers his identity blackmails him!) starring William Powell, Marion Shilling, Natalie Moorhead, Regis Toomey, Paul Hurst, and George Irving. Note that this movie bears a large similarity to "I Am a Fugitive From a Chain Gang", which was made three years later, but that movie was based on a real incident, and this movie was based on a novel that was turned into a play.

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned two examples of this window card, and the last one sold for $433! Note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 14" x 18" [36 x 46 cm]. Also note that this window card was never folded. Often window cards would be folded across the middle, because that would make them 11" x 14", and they could then be sent with standard folded posters. Most collectors put an added value on a window card that has never been folded.

Condition: good. The card had a blank top that was mostly trimmed off. The entire card has darkened somewhat. It has a small area of paper loss in the bottom of the "A" of "SHADOW". It has some tears and tiny paper loss around the edges, with a 3" tear near the center of the bottom border, extending through the "E" of "POWELL".
